What is Knowledge Strategy?
Knowledge strategy is more than knowledge management, which is how lawyers within law firms and corporate law departments share what they know about client work, about clients, about markets for their services, and about their firms as businesses. Knowledge management becomes knowledge strategy when it becomes a core function managed by the firm’s senior-most leaders to support the firm’s strategic goals.
Some elements of knowledge strategy involve traditional firm activities, such as lawyer training programs and practice group meetings. Other elements involve newer practices, such as after-action meetings or knowledge base systems.
People and Leadership Focus
Our Group emphasizes this knowledge strategy approach, which is mostly about people, process and firm leadership, not technology. This people and leadership focus makes our Group unique among other knowledge groups for lawyers.
